TWO MD MEN TIE FOR BEST DAD EVER!!!!!

GAITHERSBURG, MD - In an amazing defiance of statistical probability, two men from the same American town yesterday tied for the prize of Best Father Ever, the first and only time the prize will ever be awarded.

Robert R. "Chip" Ward, 54, and William T. Woodrow, 61, were chosen as the most excellent fathers in history, by a panel of historians, academics, journalists, and children.

"I was quite surprised, to tell you the truth," said Mr. Ward, a real estate agent, active church member and avid Maryland sports fan. "But I suppose that's what having seven kids does for you. They have a lot of votes."

Mr. Woodrow, for his part, said he was glad to have the award only because he got to share it with Mr. Ward.

"Chip is an outstanding guy, and this just means we have all the more reason to play golf together, now that we're bonded by this award," said Mr. Woodrow, an entrepreneur, salesman and inventor.

In fact, Mr. Ward and Mr. Woodrow are related, through their own children. Mr. Ward's eldest son married the eldest of Mr. Woodrow's two daughters.
